For those curious about the route we are taking...(Dad and mom didn't really consult me much on our route.) They were too busy trying to stay away from Covid-19 Hotspots, mainly any large cities; which was fine with me!!!

July 7-9, 2020

I woke mom in time to see the biggest, fluffiest pink clouds. There was a big Osprey sitting in one of my palm trees silhouetted against those clouds. I told him what I thought of him sitting there. When he didn’t move, I took out my angst on some doves, at least they get out of my way! 

Since the sun wasn’t quite up yet, we saw the moon hanging over my marina. Very pretty and quiet! That was my last peaceful morning moment!

Mom and dad were in hustle mode which I don’t usually see. They made me nervous since I wasn’t sure about all that packing! Before I knew it we were at our trailer at the airport where I get to run around on this massive driveway between the hangers while I keep eyes on M and D. Mom and I played a bit of ball while dad put his baby car away into our hanger for the summer.

I took turns sleeping in the backseat or on mom’s lap in between bathroom stops. Mom found me some really lush grassy areas. Sublime! The best part was the occasional snacks!!!

Eagle ðŸ¦… Roost RV Park along I 75 was the best! Easy access off the highway with pretty sites under tall, mature pines, and oaks covered in lots of lovely Spanish moss. While outside we discovered there were lots of knats; Irritating to all of us!! I had so much fun wandering around with mom or dad smelling all the new smells. Delightful! It was such great fun playing Chuck it with mom and sliding through the sand, mud and puddles. I just don’t get why she cleans me off before letting into Sleeping Around when I smell perfect!

Eagle's Roost RV Park

Mom and dad enjoyed dinner and watching the first episode of some old TV show called West Wing; Dad’s birthday gift from the San Diego Sages. Mom kept me entertained by playing squeaky ball with me.  loved cuddling up with them in our new bed. This morning, they told me that I did a good job of not bed hogging; whatever that means? 

Mom and dad were grateful that the morning didn’t start with torrential rains as predicted. We were off and gassed up before 9 AM. Mom was on fire🔥 because she made us breakfast & packed us lunch too!

Lots of wonderful grassy areas, a short walk through a sweet smelling woods and a fun pet area with lots of good smells. Mom and dad told me it was on a Civil War battlefield which is why we went on the short woods walk. The Indiana 84th volunteers monument was here in recognition of their bravery.

This RV Park would be a lovely place for a longer stay since there is lots to see and do around Chattanooga and the park has lots of nice facilities. 
M & D moved much slower this morning since they told me we had a shorter drive today to Hillman Ferry Campground in Lands Between the Lakes in KY. I’m really excited to see Bek again and meet Milena.

Ancient Cedars RV Park, Mancos, CO Today’s drive was simple. We traveled through the lush, vast San Luis Valley on Route 160.  It’s obvious the main income for this region comes from farming and ranching.  Monte Vista  with its old train station and  Del Norte  with its crane artwork were two smaller, charming towns.   When we arrived in  South Fork , we started   climbing into the mountains. This area is an outdoors person’s idea of paradise. The   Rio Grande River   and   Forest   provides loads of activities...Fly fishing, kayaking, hiking in the warmer months while skiing dominates in winter. Dad had to really concentrate with all the winding roads. When we were going slower mom put the window down. It’s really beautiful and smells fabulous with all the evergreens. Onto The Great Sand Dunes National Park

As it turns out some of the route to get there were on small two lane roads like CO-24. It provided us with the opportunity of passing through more tiny towns. In between were scattered ranches and windmill farms.  At times the distance between each seemed endless...it’s amazing how many of the homes are trailers or manufactured ones. Obviously, You have to love wide open spaces to live out here. Not to mention enjoy driving miles to get anything...WOW! We saw signs for this attraction   https://royalgorgebridge.com/ . With mom’s fear of heights we passed on it. We did cross over the  Arkansas River  in Pueblo, CO though… Dad decided to pass up on  Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center  ,  this historical fort built in southern Colorado in the 1850’s. Scintillating St Augustine, FL

June 13-16 Mom called this bridge, a bowtie bridge; just for fun Mom and dad promised me a quick drive from our last camp. They didn’t disappoint! They had us in our campsite and eating lunch by 2:00 PM. Hope they can find more pull through sites!  We walked around and found a dog park with some fun "doodles" playing. I had so much fun, that I crashed afterwards!  Next morning after a long walk with mom, we eventually meandered into St Augustine Historic District.   Mom and dad wanted to eat again at the Maple Street Biscuit Company . They loved this cafe when they came on the Loop.  It’s still incredibly popular! The good smells alone made me crazy! While we waited, the storm clouds were chased away by the sun.
